Fibre Channel

Fibre Channel networks with various upper level protocols (ULP) are used in a variety of high-speed mission systems. Within a mission system Fibre Channel offers a high-bandwidth and low-overhead interface solution primarily used for data transport to/from processors, sensors, and storage. When used in different configurations Fibre Channel offers switched fabric, point-to-point, and arbitrated loop topologies.

New Wave DV Fibre Channel Solutions

New Wave DV is an expert in Fibre Channel solutions for critical mission systems and offers a range of FPGA-based board level as well as FPGA IP core solutions to meet industry needs. New Wave DV provides both test application and embedded application focused Fibre Channel products. All products are purpose built to provide port-dense and SWaP-optimized solutions with superior bandwidth and latency performance.

Each Fibre Channel board level product is delivered with the customers chosen FPGA IP loaded on the board (Link Layer, FC-ASM, FC-RDMA, FC-AV), and an optional firmware development framework package that provides FPGA tools for customer’s to add additional functionality (if desired). This suite of IP is what enables New Wave DV to provide full Fibre Channel hardware offload including: hardware based ULP handling, table label lookups, and hardware DMA controllers. New Wave DV has provided solutions providing up to 32 ports of Fibre Channel in a single FPGA.
