Within a mission system Fibre Channel provides a high-bandwidth and low-overhead interface solution. Fibre Channel IP cores are primarily used for data transport to/from processors, sensors, and storage. When used in different configurations Fibre Channel offers switched fabric, point-to-point, and arbitrated loop topologies.

PMC/XMC Fibre Channel Solutions Cores

PMC/XMC form factor cards are extremely rugged and are designed for embedded computing applications. The rugged nature of PMC/XMC form factor cards allows them to be dropped, rattled or used in extremely high temperature environments. In addition, PCI Mezzanine and Switch Mezzanine cards have the capability of being completely customized to your unique specifications.

PCI Express Card Fibre Channel Protocol

PCI Express FPGA cards allow for extremely high bandwidth communication between the device and the motherboard and other hardware throughout the system. PCIe FPGA cards can be utilized for server and desktop applications that are NOT intended for embedded computing applications.

Fibre Channel IP cores cater to system implementations that do not conform to any off-the-shelf form factor. Our IP cores provide specific design files that can be implemented into to your custom form factor and system design. Our FPGA IP core licensing allows a company to transfer our IP’s onto their parts to create a fully customized form factor design implementation. This process can provide unique benefits for both test and embedded computing applications. New Wave’s IP core Fibre Channel protocol can be applied into both rugged and non-rugged customized Fibre Channel cards.

New Wave DV Fibre Channel Solutions

Each Fibre Channel board level product is delivered with the customer’s chosen FPGA IP loaded on the board (Link Layer, FC-ASMFC-RDMAFC-AV), and an optional firmware development framework package that provides FPGA tools to add additional functionality (if desired). This suite of IP is what enables New Wave DV to provide full Fibre Channel hardware offload including: hardware based ULP handling, table label lookups, and hardware DMA controllers.
